Jar Cover - 10 oz Olive Jar

Materials:
Crochet Cotton Thread, size 10, 2 colors, approx. 100 yards.
1 Yard 1/4 inch ribbon in coordinating color
Hook size 0
Jar, I used a 10 oz jar from the generic brand of olives.

Stiches Used:
hdc - half double crochet
dc - double crochet
sc - single crochet

Ch 4, silp stitch in first ch to form a ring.
Rnd 1: Ch 3, 7 dc in ring, join. 8 dc.
Rnd 2 - 3: Ch 3, dc in same stitch, 2 dc in each stitch around, join. 16, 32 dc.
Rnd 4: Ch 3, 2 dc in next dc, *dc in next, 2 dc in next. Repeat from * around, join. 48 dc.
Rnd 5: Ch 2, this round only, working in back loops,hdc in each stitch around, join. 48 hdc.
Rnd 6 - 20: Ch 2, hdc in each stitch around, join. 48 hdc.
Rnd 21: Ch 3, this round only, working in back loops, dc in next stitch, dc next 2 together, * dc in next 2 stitches, dc next 2 stitches together. Repeat from * around, join.
Rnd 22: Ch 4, (first dc and ch 1), skip 1 stitch, * dc in next, ch 1, skip 1 stitch. Repeat from * around, do not join.
Rnd 23: Ch 3, sc in same stitch, * ch 3, sc in chain space, ch 3, sc in dc. Repeat from * across. Do not join, fasten off. Slide work over jar.
Stating half way around, thread ribbon through spaces made in rnd 21. By starting halfway around the ends of rnds 21 and 22 are in the back of the work. Tie ribbon in a bow.

*Do not be afraid to add or subtract a stitch or two so the work fits snuggly around the jar.
